The website has been on standby the last few weeks due to holiday travels, but we are now back and we have a new episode for you! On this episode, Ozzy and Paul talk about some of their favorite video games that may not have been entirely well-received, and why they may be worth more than the sum of their parts.
Ozzy first talks about Beat Down: Fists Of Vengeance for the Xbox and PlayStation 2 (13:00), a game that is trying so hard to be hip that it becomes a very funny caricature of itself.
Paul then focuses on Total Recall for the NES (36:00), which only bears a passing resemblance to the 1989 Arnold Schwarzenegger film that spawned it, and is quite liberal with its Arnie references (the film star, not our very own Magnum P.I.).
For his second game, Ozzy brings up Drakengard 3 for the PS3 (56:00), as he makes the argument that Yoko Taro’s forgotten work is actually a good game wrapped in a bad package.
Finally, Paul closes out the episode with an obscure title with a very exciting name that goes by Legend for the PS1 (1:19:00). Trust us, you may want to watch the following longplay as you listen to the episode.
This was a very fun episode and we hope we can revisit the them with our other co-hosts in the future. Definitely make sure to let us know what you think of the theme and if we should continue to do episodes like this.
